Q: Who are you doing this with?
A lot of people. This project will only succeed with the help of many partners including our land owners, our lawyers, our wind scientists, our financers, our power purchasers, the Chugwater community, and the countless number of people in the industry who have given us advice along the way.
Q: What made you want to do this?
A desire to make a contribution to the world. Much of the conflict in the world today is around competition for energy supplies. Renewable energy helps remove the need to compete for those limited resources. Wind energy makes no pollution and it can be generated domestically. That makes it very easy to be passionate about.
Q: How are you going to compete with large Utilities?
This is a matter of perspective. There are many multi-million dollar energy companies with similar goals, and I hope they succeed. Ultimately they have a lot of power to make a lot of clean energy. However the demand for clean power is so high that, even if their projects succeed, it still won't be enough clean energy to meet demand. We look forward to working with companies to share data and power line capacity to achieve success in developing clean renewable energy.
Q: Why Wyoming?
Wyoming is an ideal location for many reasons. First and foremost, there is a lot of wind here. There are lots of other developers in the region which is also a good sign. We're not the only ones who see opportunity here. Wyoming Utilities have also been very proactive at building the infrastructure needed to support new Wind Farm development. It is also close to a state with a significant Renewable Portfolio Standard requirement, Colorado. The community is also very pro-wind, and we hope to bring jobs and tax revenue to the state via the projects we develop.
