Creating a future of renewable energy
West Wind Energy is a wind development company with one currently active project in southeastern Wyoming. It is our goal to foster communities to bring renewable energy development into regions where such resources are under
utilized. We're one of many partners and competitors working to create a renewable energy environment in the United States and the world.
Three lines and counting
2009 is at a close and we've got a new blog entry to wrap up the year. 2010 will likely be as full of surprises as 2009.
It's still all about finding a place to send the energy.
We have the resource pretty well identified. Transmission
is the key remaining hurdle to bring
our project to life.
LS Power has recently purchased the WCI project going from
Wheatland to Pawnee in Colorado which is great news for
development in the area. The Trans-Elect team has
brought a lot of value to that project, and we are happy to
see them take on a larger partner to bring the line to
reality.
There is also talk of an extension to another LS power
project that runs from Las Vegas to Idaho that would bring a
new line directly to Chugwater. This one is certainly
much earlier in the planning stages than the WCI line, but
it would be a terrific resource for our project as well as
other developers in the area. We will be watching it
closely.
